The Star Seller

This story is taken from a book entitled Chimva Port written by Marimo Ragawa. 


The Star Seller sells sweet stars that are yet to be precious. Despite he sees the tiger protects its owner's dead body. Mother and father protect their son although his face has been cursed. Children help the grandma who is hopeless. Day by day, The Star Seller gets upset. He is paralyzed as he gets worse each day. After he gets fully paralyzed, The Star Seller is taken care by a pretty mute girl.

One sunny day, his stars were wanted by a king. The mute girl saw the situation coming but she was helpless. Stars came out from The Star Seller's hand unconditionally. The king was happy. He immediately grabbed a star and took a bite. Unfortunately, bitterness dominated the king's tounge as he chewed the star. Anger started to rage on as frustated filled his emotions. The anger took over the king's body and overcomed it by..



.. murdering The Star Seller.

Why did the star taste so bitter? The mute girl took what was left and tasted it. The star was so sweet and precious. The mute girl cried over and over again. Tried to call The Star Seller out. She has been hiding her feelings for too long and wanted to let them out.

The stars came from his own pure heart, the truth is.

Disclaimer: This story is inspired by Charles Causley's poetry; What Has Happened To Lulu? and Sahira S.'s I Have Found Lulu.         I found myself bewildering again. Eleven years had passed since the death of Lulu. Though I was only at the age of six at the time, the scenes that my eyes witnessed were still vivid in my core memory.
